Yep. I do too. IN fact, I have tics practically everywhere you can have tics. Any place thereare muscles is susceptible. KAT in CT

Dag,  My son does that as well.  He tenses tendons behind his knees also. He "describes" it as a tic.

Response:

My son is always tensing his abdominals…I assumed it was a tic.  Maybe this is part of what keeps him awake… Rporter, are you competing with YS for the funniest one out there?! Thanks so much for the laughs. Response:

Regarding bad breath/throat clearing/acid reflux: When I was younger, I had chronic hallitosis, and compulsively cleared my throat.  I now (15 years later) have terrible heartburn just about everyday.  No Fun! Sean

How about tensing muscles in your leg???  I seem to have that __________________________________________________________________________ I know you’re out there somewhere, somewhere you can hear my voice.  I know I’ll find you somehow (MB) Chaim

Response:

Is there a connection?  My son had reflux as a baby and now he exibits sings of TS.

Response:

But how are you sure it was acid relux and not a tic??  Did your Dr. do the procedure down-the-throat, which I’m afraid to do yet?  How did you diagnose acid reflux??  The problem is distinguishing betwen it and a tic??  I’ll let you know what I found out.

Response:

Is there a connection?  My son had reflux as a baby and now he exibits sings of TS. It is very possible. When my son was 5 weeks old he had surgery for pyloric stenosis.  He also later developed reflux which is very common in patients that have had pyloric stenosis.  The doctors told me they were interested in my family history because they were studying the relationship of tic disorders and pyloric stenosis and reflux.  At the time, I just filed the info away.  But, it is certainly a topic that I ponder from time to time with interest. But,  please remember, just because your son had reflux as a baby he does not have to develop TS.  The reflux issue is just one of those "assosicated" things that so many of are children have. Many babies have reflux, but do not grow up with TS. Regards, Diane in CT

I would be interested also in hearing more on this subject.   Our son had severe acid reflus as a newborn.  My husband also has problems now in later years.  Our son is the only one dx in the family with the TS, as we were never able to decide who else actually has the TS on which side. Being that my husband, myself, my daughter and my son all were allergic to milk – makes for somewhat of a difficult correlation.   (I am not saying that because you have milk allergies that you also have TS).  But, it seems that the milk allergy may cause some Acid reflux?  in earlier and later years?  I notice at times the acid reflux in myself is getting to be a problem as well.  Our daughter is the only one of the 4 of us who had milk allergies which doesn’t have acid reflux. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Darrieyh wrote: > Is there a connection?  My son had reflux as a baby and now he exibits > sings of TS.

An interesting question.  My youngest had pyloric stenosis  (sp?) when an infant.  They expected her to grow out of it.  At two years old they figured that she would have it for the rest of her life and would either have to be on medication or go through one or more serious operations. Then she grew out of it.  I am almost certain that she is ADHD but she seems to be able to function well.  When my wife was told by our family physician that we should have my son tested for ADD one of the symptoms he mentioned was a problem with the muscles and use of the hands (that finally explained why my right had didn
