Illinois Children on Oprah
Question:
>> The Oprah Book Club program reviewing the book "Icy Sparks," has been >> rescheduled for Thursday, April 19th, and should air the same day. The >> program includes taped vignettes by 11 >> children from TSA-Illinois, ages six to fourteen.
Will the show also have adults discussing the book, or only the children? Bobbie
Response:
The TSA children aren’t discussing the book….they won’t even be there. The children were pre-filmed giving facts about TS which will be shown during the book club show. Providing the children was the extent of my personal involvement. I suppose Oprah’s book club staff chooses who discusses the books; I imagine they will all be adult. Bobbie Sorry — I wasn’t too clear. I didn’t mean the children would be discussing the book. It sounded like the segment with the children would be the entire show. I was asking if there would be a discussion of the book by adults. I hope I’ve made myself clear this time. Thanks. Bobbie
Response:
Adults discussing the book is the main show; the children’s portion is minimal. The show has been reset for next week, but remains tentative. Third time is charm, they say! Jeanne "Sangazure1" <sangazu…@aol.com> wrote in message

Thanks, Jeanne. I’ll be looking for it. Bobbie

‘Twas Sat, 14 Apr 2001 16:55:59 GMT when the wise and venerated TSNowWhat? <tourettenoww…@home.com> enlightened alt.support.tourette with these thought provoking words: >The Oprah book club AOL message boards are once again reporting that the >Icy show is not on this week’s schedule, and will not be for several >weeks … sigh …
That’s disappointing, but it’s a normal part of TV. It’s a very big budget show. That gives them the luxury of not airing a show that could use some work. If the producer of the Icy Sparks show wants more time to put together a better show, it’s good they have that flexibility. Maybe they’ll still call one of us who offered to be on the show. B^) They announce the next week’s schedule on Friday morning. Until it appears at http://www.oprah.com/tows/coming/tows_come_main.html there’s no need for anyone to set their VCRs. — RB |
