Meds
Question:
Hello to all. I have added this NG to my Crohns NG as I have just today been diagnosed with possible Tourettes. I’m falling appart here… I would be interested in finding out more about the Homepathic treatment. 38 Years old, I have been ticking like a time bomb for 25 years. I have to go for a second opinion but I’m preparing for the worst. Trouble is, as I’m sure you all know, mild TS can wax and wane and I don’t think it’s boing to active when I finally get an appointment with the more specialized Specialist. Symptoms are: Blinking uncontolably with grimaces and some gutteral vocalization. Search me why they didn’t figure this out years ago. I’d like to hear more also about the types of medication and the effects. I’m a minor case but the blinking gets so bad that I cannot drive. This is a self feeding condition as it gets worse when I feel conscious of it. Websites etc. where I can investigate treatments and medication would also be helpfull. Thank you all in advance, Bill On Sat, 06 Nov 1999 18:28:13 -0500, Kikimora <Kikim…@mirror.com> wrote: bb>I have a 9 year old son with TSOCD. I’ve heard several ideas, though I haven’t tried any, including flaxseed oil, and ridding one’s home of any allergens. There’s a site that a lot of parents say have helped their kids, I"m not sure about adults, but you may want to check it out… http://members.aol.com/bonniegr/BONNIE_1.HTM >38 Years old, I have been ticking like a time bomb for 25 years. Not sure what you mean by ‘the worst’? Nothing much is going to change except that you’ll now have a label for what you’ve been doing all along. For me, that label was an incredible relief.

If he or she is truly a more specialized specialist or even just knows anything about TS, the tics won’t HAVE to be that active to get a diagnosis. >Symptoms are: Blinking uncontolably with grimaces and some gutteral >vocalization. This site has a list of commonly prescribed meds and some side effects. http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/2219/pharm.html Then, once you’ve found a med you’re interested in, you can go here for more detailed info…. http://www.mentalhealth.com/fr30.html Being I’m not a doctor or anything, I’m not vouching for the accuracy of either site.

I encourage all people suffering from Tourette’s to explore homeopathic medicine. I was diagnosed with Tourettes when I was seventeen. I tried all the conventional medications and none were working — I would continually suffer the side effects of the medications. I then began to explore the use of Natural remedies and am proud to say that thanks to them My TS is under control. I take meds about once every two weeks.
Response:
This sounds great! Can you give us an idea of what natural cures worked for you? Thanks, Wayne Edward Kasprzycki <edwardakasprzy…@earthlink.net> wrote in message

I don’t understand. Are you saying you are still taking meds too, or are you calling the homeopathic remedies "meds"? Which homeopathic remedies are you taking? Which meds? Please clarify.
Response:
Sorry, I did not clarify too well. What I am trying to say is that homeopathic (using natural herbs, etc. I have had excellentresults with homeopathic remedies. I take meds about once every two weeks if that. My tourette’s is rarely there. I also want to stress to look for a doctor who is a N.D. Naturopathic Doctor. They will be able to help you find the right homeopathic remedy for you. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Ellen wrote: > Edward Kasprzycki wrote: > > I encourage all people suffering from Tourette’s to explore > > homeopathic medicine. Your message is very timely for us. Our 8 and 6y.o. sons have TS/OCD and the meds for the older one (younger one is not yet able to swallow pills, or willing) have helped only for a while. I’m planning to consult a homeopathic person after reading Rage-free kids – a new book on this. I just was still skeptical because it’s so unfamiliar. Thanks for your story. When you say you take meds. every two weeks, what do you mean? What kind, and why? Did you also change your diet, or have to avoid things? Thanks. Barb alt.support.tourette

I have a 9 year old son with TSOCD. We tried Clonidine for a short time and that medication made all his symptoms much worse. When we stopped Clonidine he had disturbed sleep at night for months. Then I was recommended a homeopathic doctor. My son has been on homeopathic medication for about a month now and the results are great – *significantly* less ticking and less OCD behavior. Added to that is the knowledge that the medication is not poisoning his liver, but is actually healing from within. The medicine is in the form of a sugar pill, so there is no problem with swallowing. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Meyerdaav wrote: > Your message is very timely for us.
