Can you get BP from schizophrenia background?
Question:
I am, by no means an expert in this area, but I did study biotechnology and genetics in school. I did many reports/presentations on "mental illnesses." The research going on suggests, more and more that things like depression, OCD, BP, Tourette’s, ADHD… are all related by the fact that they are caused, in large part, by some malfunctioning neurotransmitter system in parts of the brain. The common thought now is that genetics will cause someone to be predisposed, or more susceptible to these things, but that the environment will affect the method of expression (depression, anger and rages, OCD…), severity… Hope that helps. -B – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -My grandfather and possibly my mother are schizophrenic. Read in an old Discover Magazine…somewhere around 1983 or 1984 that they were doing research into why left handers tend to have schiz.; BP, and other mental disorders, along with learning disorders and such…the list was long… Will try to find it and post it… Jacque Miller ICQ # 10876877 noli illigitimi carborundum "don’t let the bastards grind you down" and Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.
