Water Water Water
Question:
I use it to fill myself up too. To get full on less that is. I’ve heard to do that, only problem is, by nature, I already drank so much water every day, that the intake has to be pretty extreme to have that effect. My mother on the other hand, only drinks a tiny bit a day, so she can’t choke down nearly what she’s supposed to. Robin
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I’m fortunate to love water. I prefer it to about anything else wet. I drink 6 liters a day and sometimes more if it’s really humid and icky out. Helps with cravings too. I have to focus hard on what’s body hunger and what’s my head talking crap to me so when I’m not real sure I drink a liter of water and it makes me full so I’m not eating and wasting points that can be used when I’m actually hungry. — Love and hugs, Kristin

I wonder if anyone could enlighten me about how much a litre of water is in US terms? I don’t understand the oz measurements! Does anyone know how much water is too much? There was recently a case in Wales of a 30 something man dying of excess water intake! (Honestly!) The paper reported that this was very rare, but this man was drinking excessive amounts daily and flushing all the good things out of his body as well as the toxins – with fatal results! Frightening!!! Catrin
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I hear that. Growing up, I was always very polydypsic (supposedly a symtpom of tourette’s) and I used to drink iced tea by the truck load. Diet caffeine free, which is kinda expensive at that quantity, and my parents were constantly yelling, "DRINK WATER ROBIN." I was like yeeuck. I’m not sure what happened but the past few years it’s just about ALL I drink now. If I have anything else it’s either a special drink like a virgin daiquiri or an occasional lemonade out or something like that. I drink so damn much of it though that I spend my life in the bathroom. The other night my husband had me watching Robo Cop because I’d never seen it, and I had to get up and go to the bathroom during EVERY commercial. And you wouldn’t know I had just been in there already either. It’s crazy. I’m on this peanut butter kick, and I have open faced sandwiches and I down one bottle with each half. In the morning I not only have to RUN to the bathroom, but even without drinking anything additional, I usually wind up back there 20 minutes later and then another 20 or something like that before I even add new water. They say though that if you are going to the bathroom a lot, it means you’re losing weight, so I’m gonna go with that view, I like it :) And hey, it’s stupposed to be great for skin too, so there’s another benefit. Robin As a rule…Im NOT a water drinker at all! I have never liked to drink it…BUT i have made it a priority. Ive almost made it my job to drink lots of it since I started WW last wednesday. I am very proud of myself as Im drinking at least 48 ounces of water a day…if not close to 64 some days! The only bad part is..Im soooo full! Im always getting up in the night and going to the bathroom and when I wake up in the morning..I have to literally RUN to the bathroom! LOL Its almost like I was when I was pregnant and couldnt stay out of the bathroom! Its crazy! but hey..whatever works. If it will help to shed these pounds…Ill do it!!

I’m afraid it is true – the young man who died used to live fairly near my brother. He was, of course, totally obsessive about drinking water – not a healthy obsession unfortunately. The report in the paper noted that the coroner had said it was a very, very rare case. Catrin
