Dissociative Disorders

Question:

Does anyone know of any connection between tourette’s syndrome & dissociative disorders (as listed in DSM-IV)? Or are we the only ones out here?

Don’t know about the DSM-IV criteria, but will share the my ex-husband was dxd w/a dissociative disorder.  Can’t tell you any more than that, because it’s been since our divorce and I have not other details about it. Although it appears that the TS is most like coming from my family, my son has always displayed some of the same "mannerisms" as his dad (even tho he’s seen about <10 times in his whole life).  The significance of that is that he hasn’t been around him enough to have "picked up" these mannerisms from his dad.  And as for connection between Tourette’s & other disorders, I was surprised at the overlap of some "symtpoms" between TS and some forms of autism (ie, echolalia, "hand things", sensory integration difficulties, etc), and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders.  I do have the DSM critieria for that (from the autism listserver).
