Question: TS vs Polygraph Results?
Question:
Gee, the first thing I thought of when I read the original post was that four or five times in my life I have been asked to take polygraph tests as part of a job application procedure. I took four of them–three for Southland Corportation (7-11), and one for a company that had me handling large quantities of small change (a coin-op laundry equipment company). They wanted to assure themselves I was an honest person before leaving me all alone with the cash (or with the 7-11, on one occasion, find out who was pilfering from the till). The fifth one would have been for a position with the city police department, but I didn’t get that far with the application procedure before deciding I was really not cut out to be a cop. I don’t have TS–my daughter does. But yeah, that could be a relevant question in the life of someone with TS, couldn’t it? And not necessarily posed by someone trying to sell something or defend/prosecute anyone. And if you who object to the question are too busy to have your time wasted … why are you still following the thread and continuing to post to it??? Anna

Wow, that really surprises me. They wouldn’t want to start doing that here. Lara

I don’t think anyone objected to the question itself, they were suspicious of the person asking it and why. Jodi

because we like to waste time on each other here. that’s just what we do. that’s what we’re about. and we don’t review operating manuals. and you’re land is funny place if that’s really how it is there. but i don’t know why you are trying to justify such foolishness as though it’s appropriate behavior. so there! and don’t argue with me again.

Why? — Tourette Syndrome – Now What? Website has moved to http://tourettenowwhat.tripod.com Alert: forgeries have occurred on alt.support.tourette. If you get *any* e-mail which seems nasty or suspicious, please assume that it may be a forgery, and write to the poster on the address they usually post with, rather than responding to the possibly forged e-mail.

I hope this is not a problem.
I notice that you don’t deny being a lawyer, which fits in nicely with the lawyerly way you wrote your original message. You also don’t deny being a suspect, polygraph examiner, police detective, private detective, or security chief for some company. You came in here and started telling us how to help you research something, and we’d like to know your reasons. Should we just assume that your website explains all your reasons? In any case, polygraphs will soon be obsolete. Everyone will be analyzing voice stress, brain waves, and facial expressions. — RB |
