Muscle Spasms And Tourettes
Question:
Hello, I am a 19 year old male who was diagnosed with TS at about 6 years of age. I have had only motor tics such as twitching of arms, legs, neck ,eyes,nose ect, and hyperactivity. Over the past year my TS has become less harsh, the tics not snapping as hard as before. Lately though I have been getting little muscle spasms in my biceps, and in my chest(right in the soft spot between the ribs), the spasm is like a little "flutter" and only lasts a few seconds. It doesnt hurt but it is uncomfortable. I was wondering if this could be related to tourettes or if its something else. Also I have been having problems with my muscles "sticking" in positions for a second or two. Yesterday I grabbed a knife and my hand wouldnt move for about a second. Every time I tried grabbing it , if I grabbed it hard enough my hand would freeze. Ive noticed this happen when I twitch my neck every once in a while lately also. My neck will stick for a split second. It seems when I strain my muscles to much they stick. If anyone has experienced this or has any ideas please let me know, Im starting to get worried and I want to know If I should spend the money to go back to city of hope again, or if Its just a normal reaction. i have no idea if this is related to TS but i can tell you that i have been having something like this all my life, before tics started as well! i usually have something like this in the upper part of my legs and when i put my hand on my leg I feel something, like there are little mice moving round Or I feel something in my back, it feels like somebody is poking me in the back is this anything like what you are having? hope this helps you tanja from holland
