Hi Mel, welcome to ast. You have already helped your daughter by educating yourself and knowing how to live with ts. Educate her early. It was the best thing I ever did for my daughter. Don’t ever let her limit her activities because of ts. She can excel in whatever she wants. Often when my kids (both are ts/ocd) are concentrating, there are no symptoms at all. Hello my name is Mel Barnhart I live in Dover, DE and I have TS. I have had it since i was about 8 years old, im now 25 and have been off all medication for almost n12 years now! I have accepted that i have TS and the tics only bother OTHER people so im not taking medication for OTHER people anymore. 3 weeks ago I my daughter was diagnosed with TS now I must help her deal with the torment i have learned to grow up with, but she will be better prepared than i was. I didnt find out till i was 13 what i had. We have been watching her for over a year now. I knew it would come to this, she is 6 now and I want to get ideas on dealing with tourettes from a parents point of view now.
