Hi there, Rory’s was diagnosed by a pediatrician in Barrie. He was originally placed on Ritalin for ADHD and the tics came out with the drugs. (why we should be careful to give our children drugs.) Anyway, we saw Dr. Rosalind Curtis at the Bloorview Children’s Hospital on referral from Dr. Hunt in Barrie. She made the diagnoses from visuals, because Rory’s tics are atypical of TS tics.(mouth, nose twitching, shoulder shrugging, etc.) She placed Rory on Clonidine which he now takes. We are not sure how much it is working, because he still tics alot, but he could be worse without it. Anyway, the TS foundation gave me the nameof the clinic at the Toronto Hospital, and Dr. Hunt sent a letter of referral for Rory. The questionnaires range from OCD checklists, to behaviour intrusion questions for the other siblings in the house, to a self questionnaire. Also included is a thorough questionnaire regarding childhood, including prenatal, birth information, school information etc. I know this questionnaire is different for adults because the top of the page says for adolescence under 16. Anyway, I will keep you posted on the outcome. As for your best friends wife, she must be related to Keith Breedon, who owns the Countrystyle donuts. His wife is a pilot (shelley) I have known them for years, our kids play sports together. Small world. Hi, Canada man, There is a Tourettes clinic in Toronto at the Toronto Hospital The doctor in charge is Dr. Paul Sandor and he is supposed to be the leading authority for TS in Canada. His phone number is (416)603-5794 and the person to talk to is Regi Eastman, the secretary. The waiting list for an appointment is 6 months. We originally called in January and have an appointment at the end of June. They will send you questionnaires galore, and you fill them out and take them to the first meeting with Dr. Sandor. We had to fill out questionnaires for everyone in the house and Rory had to fill out his own. BTW, Rory is TS/ADHD/OCD, diagnosed about 24 months ago. He is 14. We live in Alliston, just south of Barrie. Hope this helps, Cathy *who is enjoying the summer weather* CanadaMan <NAS…@speed.net> wrote in article <SBqa1.57$4y5.249…@NewsRead.Toronto.iSTAR.net>… – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> ..please follow-up this post.
